Cancer Support Groups

A number of support groups for people with specific cancers meet at the Centre.  These are open to all interested people and their family members and carers.

Lymphoma Support Group

[Updated June 3rd 2021] : A group of friends meeting to offer informal peer support to those affected by lymphomas. Some members of the group are patient representatives on the Addenbrookes Cancer Patient Partnership Group and are able to highlight the needs of haematology patients within a variety of workstreams including the proposed new Cancer Research Hospital.  Please contact Sue Arnold on 07790 319393 or email [email protected] to find out more.

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group

Meets at the Centre on the third Tuesday of each month from 10:30 – 12 noon with tea and cake. The group provides an informal opportunity to share experiences and support one another. For further information, please contact the Centre on 01223 840105.

MDS Support Group

Meets at the Centre on Mondays once every six to eight weeks from 10.30 – 12 noon. For further information, please contact [email protected] or call 020 733 7558. This group is part of the MDS UK Patient Support Group; more information can be found www.mdspatientsupport.org.uk.

Melanoma Support Group

Meets at the Centre once a quarter on a Thursday evening from 6 – 8 pm. For further information please contact Vicky McMorran or Emma Cargil on 01223 348156.

Myeloma Support Group

Meets at the Centre on the first Wednesday of each month from 2 – 4 pm. For further information, please contact Ann Fleming on 01223 503322.

Ovarian Cancer Support Group

Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 2pm to 3.30pm with tea and cake. We come together to look at all our worries, hopes and fears and take strength from each other. Ovarian cancer doesn’t have to be a death sentence.

Cambridgeshire Prostate Cancer Support Association

The only ‘patient led’ support group for prostate cancer in Cambridgeshire and the local area meets at the Centre on the fourth Thursday of the month from 7.30 pm (except in December) for a social gathering or for a talk by visiting experts. Urostomy Association Support Group

Meets at the Centre on the first Tuesday of each month 10.30am to 12.00pm. For further information, please visit the website at www.urostomyassociation.org.uk. Alan Hoensch will also be available at the Centre on the first Tuesday of each month to give advice and support to anyone who has or expects to have a stoma.
