Cambridge News published an article on 11th June, highlighting the boost the charity recently received in the form of a grant of £5000 from the Cambridgeshire Coronavirus Community Fund.

The fund, managed by Cambridgeshire Community Foundation and supported by The News as media partner, was set up to help community groups hardest hit by the pandemic.

Ted Sage, Chair of the Trustees was quoted in the article: “We had to close down in March like anyone else, but we have two managers who are working from home so we’re keeping the Centre going remotely. The fund will allow us to pay staff salaries and other costs because our income has dropped to virtually zero right now.

Without the funding I doubt we would have been able to carry on the way we do.”

The Centre receives no public funding and relies entirely on donations to provide practical and emotional support.
