Get support and share experiences at a free six-week course. All sessions will be delivered virtually via an online meeting forum, from the safety of your own home. Find new ways to regain your confidence and manage stress and emotional difficulties. Meet, share, learn and get more out of life with the HOPE (Help Overcome Problems Effectively) course.

Guided Imagery, Mindfulness and Relaxation

Are you struggling with relaxation and mindfulness resulting in low energy and fatigue? Our Occupational Therapist and Trainer can help with relaxation and mindfulness techniques in a free, online session.

Learning and incorporating these techniques into your day can help relieve stress, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain and improve sleep.

Talking Together

Would you like an opportunity to chat to other members? Feedback from recent courses we have held, has often been that the time to chat part of the session was really valued – having an opportunity to share with others experiences and tips or just to offload to others who understand.

Cancer Support Groups

The following groups are currently held at the Centre – most meeting monthly. If you are interested in attending one of the support groups, please call or drop in to the Centre for an up to date timetable. Everyone welcome.

Support Group

Details

Lymphoma Support Group

A group of friends meeting to offer informal peer support to those affected by lymphomas. Some members of the group are patient representatives on the Addenbrookes Cancer Patient Partnership Group and are able to highlight the needs of haematology patients within a variety of workstreams including the proposed new Cancer Research Hospital. Meets monthly at the Centre. 

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group

The group provides an informal opportunity to share experiences and support one another. Meets monthly at the Centre. 

Myeloma Support Group

The group provides an informal opportunity to share experiences and support one another. Meets monthly at the Centre.

Prostate Support Group

The group provides an information opportunity to share experiences and support one another. The group is led and facilitated by an experienced Macmillan Hope facilitator. Meets monthly at the Centre.

Urostomy Association Support Group

The group meets monthly at the Centre providing valuable supportFor further information, please visit the website at www.urostomyassociation.org.uk. Advice and support is available to anyone who has or expects to have a stoma.

Breast Cancer Support Group

The group provides an information opportunity to share experiences and support one another. Meets monthly at the Centre.

Carer’s corner

Meets monthly at the Centre and is led by an experienced volunteer/carer.

Gynae Support Group

Our Gynae Support Group runs every first Tuesday of the month starting at 1pm in the Centre. All welcome.
