On Thursday April 9th, Adrian Shepherd, one of our advisor trustees, set off on a safe, solo 10k March for Men following government guidelines. Adrian’s goal was to raise funds for both Cambridge Cancer Centre, and Prostate Cancer UK.
Adrian says “I had a fabulous day last Thursday in bright sunshine, with a top temperature of 24c.
The few people I met en route were very courteous and all followed government guidelines.
Sat outside the house later, a couple of passers-by even offered to donate. I’m delighted to say that we’ll clear over £700 with Gift Aid, £350 for each charity.
Thank you SO MUCH for your donation and good wishes.”
On behalf of us all at The Centre, we would like to thank Adrian so much for raising these funds.
It’s not too late to donate, any donations you are able to make would be very welcome, however small.
You can donate to his JustGiving page by clicking here: https://tinyurl.com/marchforcancercharities
If you do contribute, you do not have to add anything to the voluntary platform fee. BUT you can add Gift Aid if you pay UK tax.
We are all incredibly grateful for your support at this time. Our charity, like so many others, are facing big financial challenges during our closure period and all donations are very welcome.
If you would like to organise your own fundraising event in aid of the Centre, we would love to hear from you. Perhaps a sponsored knit? A sponsored number of books you might read? Or Sudoku puzzles you might complete? Let your fundraising imagination run wild!
