The Centre remains physically closed. We aim to be in a position to re-open the Centre in a phased way from early November. Please be assured that, in everything we do, the health and safety of our members, volunteers and staff will be our top priority.
In the meantime, to bring focus and rebuild a sense of togetherness, the Trustees and Centre Management team are putting in place a monthly programme of events including a range of support activities, through to re-opening, the end of 2020 and beyond.
We envisage one or more events scheduled each month in a “rolling programme” which is continually being extended and updated. In the first instance, it is likely that most events will be virtual and could include, for example, a range of therapies delivered over ZOOM or interest talks by members or external speakers hosted online.
In addition, we believe that socially-distanced social gatherings such as walks could be used as sponsored (and so fund-raising) events, helping us to chip away at the £1,000 a week it takes to keep the Centre running.
The calendar below gives our starter for ten but we want your ideas. The scope of the programme need only be limited by our imagination and what is practical!
